NEW HQ for Tongham scout group

It is now all systems go, lease almost sorted and planning permission has gone in, if you want to check out the application then follow this link

Now all we need to do is raise at least £250,000!

As mountains are a bit short on the ground in Surrey, the 4th Farnham (Tongham) Scout Group has decided to use Farnham District’s Climbing Tower at Garners’ Field to collectively climb the tower to at least the height of Ben Nevis, 1,345m. All money raised will go towards the rebuilding of the HQ.

All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders, Parents and Siblings can take part, you just have to be at least 6 years of age and reasonably fit. We will be meeting at Garners Field Scout Campsite, Sheephatch Lane, Tilford on Saturday 30th September from 08.30.

For a sponsorship form and book a climbing slot, contact Bat at Scouts, email on or speak to your Leader, if climbing is not your thing then still grab a form and sponsor the whole Group and volunteer on the day to make the whole event run smoothly.

New HQ

Great news at long last planning application is about to go in to Surrey for our new building. Just need £250000. The ball is rolling.

Lets Get Moving!

Tongham Scout Group will be taking part in ‘Let’s get Moving’ – this is a free event at the Tongham Recreation Ground, where around 60 local clubs will be promoting themselves to the Community.

We will be building a Pioneering Course and offering food (Chicken Wraps & Chicken Hotdogs), we would love to see lots of you at this event, which runs from 1 to 5pm.

We need help in building and running the Pioneering Course (an assault course built from poles, ropes, knots and lots of Scout Leaders! – they make good stays!) Plus cooking & serving food.

We will also be pitching a few tents.

PLUS we need lots of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers & Net Work to turn up and tell everybody what Scouting is about and all the things you get up to.

So if you can help with any of the following please email tonghamscouts (@)

Sunday morning –                           Building the Pioneering Course

11 to 1pm –                                       Setting up tents and the food

1pm to 3pm –                                    Serving food

Any time between 1 & 5pm –           Promoting Scouting, having fun
